The law in plain words

Gambling is a state subject in India, so each state has its own law, and most of them ban betting and running a gambling house. On top of that, two national laws matter:

• Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, section 112. Unauthorised betting or gambling committed by a member of a group or gang is treated as "petty organised crime", punishable with 1 to 7 years in prison and a fine.
• Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025. In force since 1 May 2026, it bans offering online money games and any advertisement that directly or indirectly promotes them. Making such an advertisement can lead to up to 2 years in prison and a fine of up to ₹50 lakh. The Act's validity is being challenged in the Supreme Court; no stay or interim relief has been granted, so it applies in full. (Gazette text)

Some states go further and treat publishing satta figures itself as an offence. Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have laws against printing or publishing satta or matka figures in any form (MP, Chhattisgarh). Bihar's Gambling (Prohibition) Act, 2026 penalises publishing such figures for the purpose of betting (Act 28 of 2026). If you are in one of these states, please do not use this site.

No court has yet ruled on a website that only publishes past results, and no authority has said such sites are lawful. The government can also block access to websites under the Information Technology Act. We follow the law and act promptly on lawful orders from the government or a court.
